Sabine & Thomas – Bavarian style
International Wedding Photographer
We usually photograph weddings in and around Melbourne. But what’s there not to like about a international wedding abroad?
We flew to Germany a couple of days ago to photograph this small wedding in Bavaria … some 14,500km away from Melbourne, Australia. A photojournalistic way of photographing the wedding was the couples wish. It shouldn’t feel like a photoshoot, no posing … just fun and relaxing shooting. As our style is creative wedding photojournalism we enjoyed the wedding a lot – it was more like we were guests than photographers.
This intimate affair in Germany had everything that Sabine and Thomas could wish for. We had a fabulous time capturing all the details and joy of the occasion. This couple would have to be the most jovial bride and groom that we have photographed to date.
In the small Bavarian town (Germany), Sabine and Thomas exchanged vowels in a civil ceremony in the Town Hall (Historisches Rathaus) in front of family members and close friends.
The reception included a six course fine-dining experience at the best restaurant in the region. Poached Salmon, Sander fillet and Eye fillet steak were done to perfection. Fine wines and schnapps accompanied the meals. A sorbet with bavarian beer or prosecco was served between the fish and meat courses. Yum! The chocolate souffle with icecream and wild berries saw us rolling out of the restaurant.
For their photo shoot, we went to a nearby lake. The cloudy day didn’t prevent us from achieving some beautiful images which showed the love and joy which Sabine and Thomas have for each other. On the way back we discovered some beautiful fields which we had to use for a quick wedding photoshoot. The “Canola” fields were in full bloom, providing a stunning backdrop for this happy couple.
At night, the couple were joined by more guests at a local favourite, the “Zum Golden Loewen” (the golden lion – built in the 1600’s). Traditional German food and beer. They danced and laughed the night away to the music of a traditional German Band … they played the accordion & trumpet until 2:30am … what a wedding … 🙂
