Last week we captured a stylish event at Vue De Monde in the Melbourne CBD. The restaurant with stunning views across Melbourne was the perfect space to celebrate. The event was held in the old space of the Melbourne Observation deck – a view which we all miss. After a quick ride in the lift up to the 55th floor, guests were treated to a Sparkling Fruit Frizzle (Spider Dance) and Apple Mint Swizzle – Lui Bars signature cocktails entrance.
Audi Australia and Hawthorn FC Sponsorship
The German luxury car manufacturer Audi and the Hawthorn Football Club (champions in the last three years) kicked off their 3-year sponsorship agreement. Being from Germany myself it’s always a pleasure to photograph events for german brands. A premier car brand combined with one of the best footy clubs – a great combination. Stephen Quartermain was guiding through the evening with speeches from Audi and Hawthorn officials and of course some players.
The decoration of the room was kept very stylish (we did not expect anything else from Audi). Monsieur Truffle Chocolate was made especially for the event – the special partnership edition chocolate. Yum!
Hawthorn FC brought along their last 3 premiership cups – 2013 – 2014 and 2015 … wow .. impressive! There was just one little problem. The Audi emblem has four rings. Three Premierships in a row … but four rings. It did not really match and the pressure is on Hawthorn to match the fourth ring with 2016 AFL Premiership. Game on.

We photographed this event at Vue de Monde in a creative photojournalistic way – some media wall shots combined with candid photographs of the guests enjoying themselves. We captured details of the decoration and of course not forgetting the impressive views of the location – using some of the reflections to create stunning images.
As photographers, we try to blend in and be a part of it not disturbing the relaxed atmosphere. The venue is situated in the 55th story of the Rialto Towers in Melbourne. There is no doubt that Vue de Monde is one of the best Melbourne restaurants – an experience. Shannon Bennet created a wonderful degustation menu for the guests:
- Spanner crab, green tomato, wasabi
- Duck, caramelised blueberries, parsley blossom
- Blackmore Wagyu beef, potato, onion
- and a creative Dessert Buffet on each table
