We recently had the privilege of photographing the prestigious invite-only awards night – The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, which was held at the Carlton Exhibition Building here in Melbourne. It’s the largest gathering of the best gastronomic talents from around the world. We love documenting events and capture the atmosphere and style. Neil Perry and the Rockpool crew were there to cater, serving delectable seafood and their signature beef. Heston Blumenthal was present to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by our clients. Eleven Madison Park (New York) took out the top spot in the world and Attica (Melbourne) was named the best restaurant in Australia. Instant photo delivery – just a few seconds
As proud owners of the latest Canon 5D Mark IV, we were able to instantly upload our photos onto television screens. The cameras were directly delivered to an FTP server. This enables us to deliver photos instantly within seconds – always great for social media coverage or live feeds.
Our main focus was to capture the atmosphere and the guests enjoying their night. A bit of set-up time was required to get us connected and transferring images smoothly but the guests loved seeing the photos displayed on the screens.

As with every event we’re hired for, we endeavour to produce creative images which are different and sets us apart from other event photographers. It’s a little more tricky with events such as this one which requires instant photos, as we’re unable to edit the photos to our liking, but we came up with work which our clients were happy with.
